James ‘Bae’ Concert Review

On February 3rd 2016, James Bay took the stage in Festival Hall, Melbourne.

As the hall got dark, he emerged from behind a large white sheet, with a spotlight outlining his unique dangling long hair, signature black hat and guitar figure.

The hall produced fantastic acoustics and James Bay certainly didn’t fail to impress. The atmosphere was just so electric and alive, you could feel the energy go right through your whole body. His raspy, yet soft warm tones, my lorrd! Just fully mesmerising the audience with his brilliance.

As he soared through the playlist of his only album, Chaos and the Calm, Bay continuously brought more than 4,000 people to their feet. His vocal delivery was so raw and flawless – a complete replica of his recorded versions. He gave his performance 110% and owned the stage. Sure, he had a top class band accompanying him, but I watched in awe as James took complete control.

Bay in one word: exceptional. Absolutely exceptional! There was some attitude, a bit of swag, so much passion and definitely bold charisma; creating such a polished performance, but not to the point that it seemed choreographed … his raw talent made sure of that.

Here’s a little snippet from where I was sitting 🙂

James Bay in one word? Exceptional. Absolutely, exceptional. It’s just his voice! ahh *cue drool* haha but it’s just so powerful … pierces straight through your heart and melts!

Well this inspiring Wednesday night will eternally hold a special place in my heart and I would, without a doubt, go and see him again!

James Bay … no chaos, just pure enjoyment :’) Unforgettable!
